The impressions are taken on surfaces that have been cleaned of any potential sample contaminants (dust and petroleum-based contaminants). The Surface Profile 3D Tech kit consists of a spray gun that mixes liquid resins and deposits them on the freshly sandblasted substrate. After a few minutes, the replicas are removed from their surfaces before being placed in test tubes for transport.

The sampling is then entrusted to our R&D office and a scanner is used to carry out the Surface Profile 3D Tech analyses on all the replicas collected. Our W Care experts take responsibility for sampling your sandblasted components once the appropriate surfaces have been identified.

Results

The Surface Profile 3D Tech uses 2,500 measurements to create a diagram. The measured results include factors such as Ra, Rz, and Rmax, expressed in µm, and Rpc expressed in units/cm.

The stroke lengths must be chosen according to your needs.

Other parameters, such as Rsk and Rku, concern the coating's resistance to wear over time. Vv, which corresponds to 2/3 of Rz, is the useful thickness of paint needed to cover the roughness that has been produced.
